Dr. Amy Albrecht - Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Amy Albrecht grew up on a farm in the corn and bean fields of Iowa.

She received her B.S. in Biology at the University of Iowa and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University. She traded the rolling plains for the mountains of Idaho after completing vet school in 2005 and has been working with small animals and their families ever since.

Dr. Albrecht's top priority at the hospital is to build relationships with the family as a whole to make decisions that maintain the best quality of life for the furry members of the family. She has a special interest in hospice, end-of-life care, and home euthanasia. She feels strongly that honoring our friends with peaceful end-of-life care is the greatest gift we can give them. Of course, she also enjoys snuggling puppies and kittens of any age, and soft tissue surgeries are her Zen place.

Outside of the hospital, her top priority is enjoying life with her husband and their two kids. She enjoys traveling anywhere, vegetable gardening in the summer, paint-by-number in the winter, and reading all the time. She has a Great Dane named Wilson, a lovely mixed-breed dog named Winnie, and two opinionated cats named Jack and Rebecca.
